Anne Marie Kenny, Vocal Instructor, loves to help others develop their artistic expression through music. Many of her current and former students are chosen for leading roles in musical theater productions, are in Opera Omaha's chorus, and have won first and second place in State, Regional, and National singing competitions, such as National Association of Teachers of Singing. Anne Marie is equally thrilled to work with avocational singers who take lessons simply for their own enjoyment, or who want to explore the beautiful songs of great classic and broadway composers.

to audio piano recordings of Vocalizes, Marchesi and Lyric Diction exercises. This space also holds a complete list of
the sheet music collections in the VPS Lending library, plus a Bulletin Board with upcoming studio events.

Anne Marie's career spans a wide range of song styles and genres. She believes that developing a classical vocal technique will allow singers the versatility to work in any music genre.
ANNUAL RECITAL
In-person recitals have resumed. Locations have been in various recital halls such as
Joslyn Art Museum and Schmitt Recital Hall.
LANGUAGES
English, French, Italian, German, Spanish
Anne Marie is fluent in French, and also speaks Czech. She has a working knowledge of the other classical singing languages listed above. Anne Marie has significant education and expertise in French and Italian lyric diction.

Amazing performances from 14 singers at the annual VPS Student Recital, August 2023
At a "Mock NATS" masterclass which helped students prepare for the "real" NATS Audition at right.
In 2023, at the West Central NATS competition, Charlotte Fox won 1st place in both Classical and Music Theater categories. Riya Kumar won 4th place in Classical. Also, at MTNA competition, Charlotte Fox won 1st place and Riya Kumar won 2nd place. In 2022, five students advanced, and 3 placed! In 2021, three students advanced to the National round! (There were no 2019 or 2020 live competitions.) In 2018, two students both won 1st and 2nd place and advanced to nationals.
